Oslo-Borealis said it has made a decision to discontinue production at its 110,000-t/y high-density polyethylene(HDPE)plant at Bamble,Norway,by the end of this year(PCN,13 Mar 06,p 1).Earlier this year the company's board agreed to recommend to the supervisory board that the Bamble HDPE unit,which is"the least competitive"of its three Bamble production units,be closed.
