摘要

This paper presents an investigation of growth dynamics of spikes in a collisionless magnetoplasma. In most cases, magnetic field (self-generated or externally applied) permeates plasma. Therefore, it is very important to study the role of the magnetic field and growth of the spikes dynamics. In the current investigation, we have set up and solved the nonlinear differential equations for the growth and the width of the spikes in the presence of externally applied magnetic field. We have considered collisionless, magnetized plasma with ponderomotive nonlinearity. The effect of focusing/defocusing of main beam and magnetic field on growth dynamics of the spikes is studied.
