The effect of an applied electric field on the spin-singlet-spin-triplet transition of the two-electron ground state in a square-well quantum dot is investigated. Because the transition occurs under a magnetic field, the Hall geometry of external electromagnetic fields is considered. An external electric field breaks the symmetry of the square well and the off-diagonal elements cause repulsion between energy levels.
