Rotational behavior of fluorescein sodium salt (FL) dissolved in a critical binary liquid mixture of 2, 6-lutidine + water (LW) was investigated by the steady-state and time-resolved fluorescence depolarization measurements. It was found that FL molecule motion is slowed down near the critical point of LW. Two different rotational motion modes of FL molecule were observed. (C) 2002 Elsevier Science B.V.
