The question of representability of quasi-static domain wall motion in random potentials by the Preisach model (PM) of hysteresis is studied. It is shown analytically and illustrated by a numerical experiment, that domain wall motion in a pinning field whose first spatial derivative is a stationary random process is exactly representable by the PM.
