摘要

A meso beta predictive grid point model with a detailed microphysics parameterization of grid scale (20 km) warm cloud processes is briefly described. The model is initialized with a mesoscale data set; 6 h model predicted rainfall amounts are compared with both observed rainfall amounts and predictions from subsequent model runs which include 1) a surface energy budget, and 2) a time-dependent lateral boundary condition. The results indicate that the time dependent boundary condition has a much more marked effect on both the evolution and the total accumulation of precipitation.
