摘要

The marine Molusk Aplysia is one of several experimental preparations that neuroscientists are using to help understand the mechanisms underlying learning and memory. Simple behavioral modifications such as sensitization and classical conditioning can be related to changes in the ability of previously formed synaptic connections to release neurotransmitter substance. The modifications of transmitter release in turn are regulated by the intracellular second messengers Ca(2+) and cAMP. The second messenger systems may act separately in the case of non-associative learning (sensitization) but their specific interactions may underly forms of associative learning such as classical conditioning. Keywords: Artificial intelligence.
