摘要

A high-performance liquid chromatography method of characterizing a brightener additive used in the acid copper sulfate plating bath has been developed. Three well-resolved sets of component peaks were developed using acetonitrile/water solvents on octadecylsilane or phenyl columns. The components were determined to be several molecular weight ranges of polyethylene glycols, an alkylphenolpolyethoxylate surfactant, and minor common contaminants.
