摘要

The money value of food used by 3,716 housekeeping households in the North Central region averaged $60 in a week during the survey year--with different households surveyed in each season from April 1977 through March 1978. Of the amount, $47 (78 percent) was the value of food used at home and $13 (22 percent) was the expense for meals and snacks eaten away from home. Most of the food used at home was bought, except for $4 worth received without direct expense which was mainly home produced. Meals eaten away from home accounted for $11 and snacks for $2.
