The National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute has conducted a study to determine the usefulness of mass media in providing health professionals with information. The study also assessed specific recall and opinions of health messages delivered through the media. After an intensive dissemination period of high blood pressure through cooperating Richmond newspapers, television stations, radio stations, and movie houses, practicing physicians (stratified by specialty), nurses, and pharmacists were interviewed in January and April 1981.
