A method is presented that can spatially trigger a physical / chemical reaction at a spatial resolution that is below the classical Abbe's optical resolution limit. Instead of the STED process, another comparable process can be performed, such as RESOLFT or GSD. A few applications from biochemistry are presented, for example, the reprogramming and conversion of a differentiated tissue cell into a stem cell.
