The present invention relates to a process for the hatching of nauplil artemia starting from an amount of artemia cysts, including diapause cysts, by incubating the cysts in an hatching medium under conditions that allow at least a portion of the cysts. hatching and for the release of freely swimming nauplii within a predetermined incubation period, in which method the cysts are placed in contact with a compound comprising at least one structure - (oh) c = c (oh) - to interrupt diapause in at least a number of diapause cysts to enable them to produce freely swimming nauplii within said predetermined incubation period thereby increasing the hatching percentage of incubated cysts by x% of the total number of complete cysts when cysts are not placed contact with compost, up to a hatching percentage greater than x% when they are brought into contact with compost.
