To provide a method for forming a Fresnel lens shape which forms the Fresnel lens shape having a recessed corner part as a pin corner.SOLUTION: A tool bit (T1) of which the protruded corner part (T1a) is a pin corner is used. A method for forming a Fresnel lens shape includes: a process 1 of cutting base material (20) by using one side of first and second tool bit faces (T1b, T1c) of the tool bit (T1) and forming one side of a Fresnel face (21) and a rise face (22) of a triangular cross-section prism as the base material (20); and a process 2 of cutting the base material (20) after the process 1 by using the other side of the first and second tool bit faces (T1b, T1c) and forming the other side of the Fresnel face (21) and the rise face (22) as the base material (20). In the process 2, the base material (20) is cut such that a recessed corner part (23) formed by causing the Fresnel face (21) and the rise face (22) which are formed on the process 1 to intersect each other assumes a pin corner and the recessed corner part (23) gets to a bottom part of the triangular cross-section prism.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5C
