A mold roll 10 has a cylindrical mold roll main body 12, a plurality of recesses 14 opening to an outer peripheral surface 12A of the mold roll main body 12 and into which the patterned metal plate 18 is fitted, and a grip part 16 protruded on an inner surface 14A of an open end part of the recess 14 and whose inner dimension E is smaller than an outer dimension F of the widened part 22 of the patterned metal plate 18. An inner dimension H of the recess 14 with respect to the outer dimension F of the widened part 22 of the patterned metal plate 18 or an inner dimension E of the grip part 16 with respect to an outer dimension G of the metal plate main body 20 of the patterned metal plate 18 is 0.01 mm or more and 1 mm or less.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
