The present invention relates to a method and an apparatus for DNA analysis using a terahertz wave capable of accurately discriminating a type of cancer from DNA using a terahertz wave. A method for DNA analysis according to the present invention comprises: (a) a step of irradiating methylated DNA with the terahertz wave; (b) a step of detecting the terahertz wave reflected by the methylated DNA; (c) a step of detecting a peak of a waveform of the terahertz wave detected in the step (b); and (d) a step of determining a kind of cancer from the peak detected in the step (c). Besides, the step (c) includes: (c-1) a step of fitting a waveform to a sum of a first Gaussian function and a second Gaussian function; and (c-2) a step of detecting a frequency of the terahertz wave corresponding to a peak of the first Gaussian function and the peak of the first Gaussian function.
