The present invention relates to a device (10, 200, 300) for holding and moving a laparoscopy instrument (100) during a surgical operation comprising a fixation unit (14, 302) for attachment to a support arm. (16), a receiver unit (32) for holding the laparoscopy instrument (100) as well as a main body (12). furthermore, the device (10, 200, 300) has a lever (30) whereby the receiving unit (32) is fixed to the main body (12, 202). the main body (12, 202) is mounted on the clamping unit (14, 302) so that it can be rotated about a first axis of rotation by means of a first rotation unit (26). the lever (30) is fixed to the main body so that it can be rotated by means of a second rotation unit (28) about a second axis of rotation. furthermore there is provided a drive unit (34) which upon activation drives the first and second rotation unit (26, 28) so that the main body (12, 202) is rotated about the first axis of rotation. rotation and the lever (30) about the second axis of rotation by the same angle of rotation in opposite directions of rotation.
