System (100) for work task assignment and follow-up in a building or construction project (PR), which project comprises sub projects (SP1,SP2) each comprising work tasks (Tll-T15;T21-T23), which system stores contact information regarding performers (P1,P11-P14,P21-P23), comprises a central server (130) in communication with electronic mobile devices (120,121) and comprises a software function accessed from said devices, wherein said server associates performer assignment rights and receives assignment requests from said performers and in reply thereto associates a certain work task with a certain per-former, if the requesting performer has proper assignment rights.The invention isthe central server, following an assignment request concerning a first performer and a sub project, automatically changes the assignment rights for the first performer so as to obtain the right to in turn assign, the work tasks of the sub project, and in that the server continuously makes available updated contact information.The invention also relates to a method.
