Apparatus making it possible to detect the apnoea consisting essentially of a housing fixed to the bed of the infant or in an adult able to follow the movements resulting from its millimetric recurrent breathing, the detection of any signal is the result of the correlation of at least 2 types of sensors: at least one sensor type pyroelectric the passive infrared, at least one camera optical. the (or) pyroelectric infrared sensors are provided with fresnel lenses, which make it possible to have a covering of the fields adapted to the necessary. The optical camera has a high definition makes it possible to detect the microphones repetitive movements of the breathing of the infant. The images captured by the camera are processed by a specific software capable of discriminating between the respiratory movements in a background noise, and makes it possible to identify a possible apnoea, the apparatus has decided that there is an apnea if and only if the two types of sensors detect a apnoea, which permits a very high reliability.
