PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an isolation method of olfactory sphere cells which are free from safety problems and are industrially practicable and easy, and a production method of isolated olfactory sphere cells.SOLUTION: A method of producing and isolating olfactory sphere cells comprises (1) the step of enzymatically treating olfactory mucosa cells or tissues collected from the nasal cavity of humans or other mammals, and (2) the step of culturing the enzymatically treated material obtained in the step (1) in a serum-free condition to obtain olfactory sphere cells, and the enzymes in the step (1) being a mixture of enzymes comprising collagenase, dispase, deoxyribonuclease I and hyaluronidase.
