The drive circuit (300) has a current converter (330) having a signal positively correlated with current that flows through the LED (332). A waveform sampler (340) has eighth end (E8) and ninth end (E9) which are coupled between the alternating current (AC) source (310) and rectifier (320). The sampler has a signal which is directly proportional to AC signal output by ninth end. A control circuit (350) has tenth end (E10) is coupled between the ninth end of sampler and seventh end of current converter, for outputting control signal to the power converter through tenth end.
