The injector (10) has a housing (11) comprising a terminal portion (12) connected with fuel sources. The housing comprises a cylindrical bore portion (18) with diameter for accommodating a rod-shaped fuel filter (25). A drain outlet (27) is mounted on a side facing another cylindrical bore portion in a front region of the fuel filter. A transition region comprises a conical hole region on a side facing the former bore portion, where cone angle is in a range of 20 degrees in relation to a longitudinal axis of the transition region.
