PURPOSE: Apparatus for engine torque reduction using MDPS(motor driven power steering) is provided to decide the condition reversible torque is applied or not to a drive shaft in a reverse shifting device, and to conduct engine torque reduction control with an engine control unit in condition the reversible torque is applied.;CONSTITUTION: Apparatus for engine torque reduction using MDPS(motor driven power steering) comprises: a vehicle state detection part(10) for offering the information, which is an accelerator operating or not, a brake pedal operating or not, a selected shift gear by a shift lever, velocity of a vehicle, engine RPM, to MDPS; a steering angle detecting part(20) offering the information of steering angle to the MDPS control part; a MDPS control part(30) aid steering force by generating damping torque and restitution torque according to the steering angle, and requiring the reduction of torque to an engine control part in case of detecting state reversible torque is applied to a drive shaft by analyzing the information of the vehicle state detection part and the steering angle detecting part; and an engine control part(40) reducing the output torque of engine according to the require of MDPS control part.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2012
