METHOD TO TREAT RHABDOVIRUS INFECTION IN A MAMMAL SUBJECT SUSPECTED TO HAVE AN INFECTION "TOLL-LIKE" 4, METHOD TO SELECT A COMPOUND TO TREAT AN INFECTIOUS DISEASE, METHOD TO SELECT A COMPOUND TO TREAT AN AUTOIMMUNE DISEASE, METHOD TO SELECT A COMPOUND TO TREAT INFLAMMATION, HONEYLONE CULA NEOANOLE CELL FOR IN VITRO SELECTION OF A "TOLL-LIKE" 4 OR TRAM-TRIF RECEIVER SIGNALING ACTIVITY MODULATOR "Compositions and methods are provided for selecting and identifying compounds that modulate Toll-like receptor 4 (TLR4) signaling via CD14 and a ligand. Methods are provided for treating various disease states such as inflammation or autoimmune disease in mammalian subjects by modulating Toll-like receptor 4 (TLR4) pathway signaling via CD14 and a ligand. Transgenic nonhuman animals and methods for developing transgenic nonhuman animals are provided where transgenic nonhuman animals comprise a nonfunctional mutation for the CD14 gene.
