PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reconstruct a volumetric image in a three-dimensional imaging system where prior calibration of the imaging system is not possible or is not practical.;SOLUTION: A configurable volumetric representation (58) of some or all of the imaging volume is reconstructed using an imaging geometry configuration (55) estimated based on the reference markers or anatomical features represented in the projection images (53).
