An overhead crossing system for easing traffic congestion at an intersection in the downtown area is provided to increase efficiency in business for urban population, to prevent the aggravation of productivity and to offer convenience to drivers. The overhead crossing system(1) for easing traffic congestion at an intersection in the downtown area comprises a ground roadway(10) formed to let vehicles traveling in east and west directions at an intersection make a free pass possible through main roadways(10a,10b) formed above the ground, an underground roadway(20) formed to connect with a small bridge located on the bottom of a roundabout of the center of an intersection to let vehicles traveling in north and south directions at an intersection make a free pass possible through main roadways(20a,20b) formed under the ground, a roundabout(30) installed to the center of an intersection using piers to let vehicles traveling on sub-roads of the ground roadways and the underground roadways make a free pass possible in the target direction, and ramps(12,12a,14,14a,22,22a,24,24a) installed to connect the sub-roads of the ground roadways and the underground roadways and the roundabout to make vehicles come in and out in each direction.
