A variant of a thyroglobuline gene of Korean native cattle is provided to be effect on marbling of the Korean native cattle, thereby being able to select the Korean native cattle producing the high quality meat. The variant of a thyroglobuline gene related with meat quality in Korean native cattle isolated by a PCR-SSCP(single strand conformation polymorphism) technique is characterized in that it includes a novel nucleotide sequence, obtained by amplifying from a 52nd nucleotide to a 596th nucleotide in a 5'-flanking area of a thyroglobuline gene and having a size of 545 bp, where thymine of a 206th nucleotide is substituted with cytosine and guanine of a 284th nucleotide is substituted with adenine.
