PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for detecting an alien chromosome introduced into wheat, by using a wheat genome as a genetic background. PSOLUTION: This method for detecting the alien chromosome includes an amplification process for amplifying a DNA fragment by using a primer pair designed based on a barley EST sequence as a primer pair and further using a genomic DNA of a test individual of the wheat as a template DNA and an amplified fragment confirmation process for confirming the DNA fragment amplified in the amplification process, wherein many primer pairs which can detect the alien chromosomes derived from 10 closely-related species of the wheat belonging to Triticeae are discovered among primer pairs developed based on the barley EST sequence and used in the method.
