PURPOSE: A recombinant VP2 protein comprising a canine Parvovirus neutralization antigen epitope and a vaccine composition comprising the same protein are provided, thereby effectively preventing and treating infection of canine Parvovirus. CONSTITUTION: The recombinant VP2 protein comprising a canine Parvovirus neutralization antigen epitope comprises the amino acid sequence selected from SEQ ID NO:17, SEQ ID NO:19, SEQ ID NO:21, SEQ ID NO:23, SEQ ID NO:25 and SEQ ID NO:29. An expression vector pGEM-4T contains a gene encoding the recombinant VP2 protein. A method for producing the recombinant VP2 protein comprises the steps of: (a) constructing an expression vector containing the gene encoding the recombinant VP2 protein operatively linked to an expression control sequence; (b) transforming a host cell with the recombinant expression vector; and (c) culturing the transformed cell in a medium and recovering the substantially pure recombinant VP2 protein.
