PURPOSE: An anticancer agent comprising curcumin and 5-fluorouracil having excellent anticancer effect on stomach cancer in capsule form is provided. The agent has a synergistic effect on the treatment of stomach cancer as compared to separate administration of curcumin and 5-fluorouracil. CONSTITUTION: The anticancer agent contains 150 to 800mg curcumin and 100 to 600mg 5-fluorouracil and is orally administered to a cancer patient. The curcumin inhibits proliferation of human stomach cancer cells in contrast to concentrations thereof, the proliferation inhibiting effect thereof is reversible. The concentration(5 to 50M) of the curcumin shows that lower than a serum concentration(2 to 100M) which can be reached by taking 160mg to 8g per a day.
