Arrangement for measurement and visualization of sound pressure fields in transparent gases using a laser Doppler interferometer (1) with scanning device (2) for point-wise 2-D imaging of sound pressure field (3). Scanner directs laser beam towards fixed reflector (5) and analysis unit (4) uses interference between reflected and reference beams and resultant frequency increase according to known method to visually display sound wave field.
