PURPOSE: A Java chip utilizing a Java byte code accelerator is provided to obtain a speed several times higher than that of a java virtual machine of the interpretive mode by having a Java accelerator for converting a command in Java byte code delivered from a memory to a RISC into the corresponding RISC command. CONSTITUTION: A Java chip utilizing a Java byte code accelerator includes the following units. A processor performs a high-speed operation. A memory (20) stores a data and command resulted from the operation of the processor (20). A Java byte code accelerator converts the command stored in Java byte code of the memory into a processor command. The java accelerator (30) includes an address operator (31) for controlling a processor and a memory address. A command converter (32) converts the java byte code command into a command of a processor and when inputting a java byte code command for performing a floating point operation, outputs an interrupt command to the processor. A processor signal controller (33) and a memory signal controller (34) receives control signals from the processor and memory (20) and controls the operation of the address operator (31).
