PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily provide barrier ribs of a plasma display panel having no hole by including a resin and inorganic powder made of low-melting point glass and an inorganic filler having the maximum grain size and average grain size within specific ranges. ;SOLUTION: A barrier rib forming material contains a resin and inorganic powder made of low-melting point glass and an inorganic filler having the maximum grain size of 5-20 μm and the average grain size of 0.5-2 μm as essential components. The resin is used to keep its shape until it is baked, and an epoxy resin is used, for example. The low-melting point glass constituting the inorganic powder becomes barrier ribs when it is fused and solidified, the baking temperature is preferably set to 450-600°C, and PbO, B2O3 are used for its composition.
