PURPOSE: To provide a desulfurizing method and apparatus with improved desulfurization function by lowering the concentration of,gypsum, which becomes a resistance of a slurry to be sprayed through a nozzle, as much as possible and increasing the limestone concentration. ;CONSTITUTION: An outlet for a circulating liquid slurry is formed near the liquid surface level of an oxidation tank 6 to draw out the liquid from a part where the gypsum concentration is relatively low and limestone is supplied to a circulation liquid pipeline 11 from a limestone tank 17 and the resulting slurry is sprayed to a exhaust gas. The diameter of the oxidation tank 6 of an actual installation is 10m or wider and the particle size of the gypsum is 30-50μm, so that the resulting slurry is not well mixed to the liquid surface level by all means even if it is stirred by a stirrer 7 and the gypsum concentration near the liquid surface is low. In the case the mixture in the inside of the oxidation tank 6 is mixed uniformly, a hydrocyclone is installed in the circulation liquid line to separate liquid and solid and to lower the gypsum concentration and then limestone is supplied.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1995,JPO
