The assembly is for facilitating the reproduction of a painting. It comprises a picture in normal colours of the painting with a support carrying a sketch of the picture and adapted for receiving paint applied by hand. The sketch is either a saturated picture of the image in normal colours, or a half-tone monochromatic picture of the (1) in normal colours. Alternatively, it may comprise at least certain zones which do not correspond in tone to the equivalent zones of (I) in normal colours, the tone of these zones being such that, in the process of being used, they are complementary to the paint applied by hand. Oil, pastel ro acrylic paints may be used, and the substrate may be made of treated linen-finish paper, pref. mounted on a board; or water colours may be used, and the substrate made of paper.
