The fodder fermentation silo, espec. one manufactured from steel consisting of a cylindrical silo jacket mounted on a solid base with silage distribution gear, has a discharge slit (11) attached to the silo jacket (2) by means of a fitting (5) on the base support (6) of the silo (1). The slit (11) is near the base region and runs around the silo (1) periphery having a radially insertable and removeable silage cutting device (17) with cutting tool (18) drive motor (19). The cutter (17-19) is situated above the trough (13) that runs around the silo jacket (2) base and rises around the silo (1) in a gear rack (22) by means of a powered car (21).
