    • 摘要: This paper dwells upon optimizing the azimuth samp-ling interval of digital surface maps used to model radar ground clutter.The resulting equations can be used to find the digital map sampling interval for the required calculation error and modeled power of the simulated signal,which determines the resulting distribution of backscatter intensity.The paper further showcases how the sampling interval could be increased by pre-processing the map.

    • 摘要: Digital array radar(DAR)is the research and development focus all over the world,since it is much more powerful than conventional phased array radar.For example,the Air and Missile Defense Radar(AMDR),also known as the SPY-6,is a next-generation integrated radar including an active electrically scanned array(AESA)that is slated to be 30 times more powerful than the current SPY-1 phased array radar.In China,the Type 346 radar,a multi-function and dual-band naval active phased array radar(APAR),is also highly digitized.It has been proved that conventional radar systems can benefit greatly from digitalization.The performances,such as interference rejection,low sidelobe,target localization and tracking,have been made rapid progress.

    • 摘要: 由于仿真地形数据库制图工作量巨大,因此目前航海雷达仿真中物标雷达反射率模拟的工程应用受到极大限制。提出基于DEM(Digital Elevation Model)和同波段SAR(Synthetic Aperture Radar)数据反演,获取物标反射率信息,作为地表雷达反射率仿真的依据,结合雷达方程,建立航海雷达地表反射率模型;考虑雷达回波地形的高程遮挡关系,给出了航海雷达地形回波生成算法,GPU编程实现。通过与传统仿真方法和真实雷达回波图像的比较,表明该算法与真实雷达回波更接近,更能体现地表回波图像的雷达反射率细节和不同量程下的回波图像变化。

    • 摘要: Wideband radars have been proposed for detection of moving targets, with unique capability of non-ambiguous detection due to range migration. Moreover, frequency diversity has long been used for mitigating the fading effects caused by target and clutter fluctuations. The real benefits of wideband radars are difficult to analyze, since they derive from the combined effects of target resolution in range, migration over successive cells of clutter, Doppler resolution and instantaneous bandwidth, and residual ambiguities in Doppler. In order to contribute to a better understanding of the benefits of agile transmissions for detection of moving targets, clutter cancelling performances of wideband radars are examined, demonstrating clear benefits from diversity on clutter and target, primarily – but not only – obtained through target migration effects. Special attention is given to long-range surveillance and tracking, and new results on detection of moving targets in clutter will be provided to demonstrate the effectiveness of these new architectures for small targets detection at long range, in difficult environments. Finally, recommendations for system designs that improve the discrimination of moving targets against fixed and diffuse clutter are presented.

    • 摘要: In this paper, some distinctive features of the vertical profile of precipitable liquid water content (LWC) with considerable respect to rain rates (R) and radar reflectivity (Z) obtained in a tropical location are presented. Assessment of LWC allows applications in the specific area of flight icing severity, aviation safety as well as signals traversing through the atmosphere. The parameters were typically measured using vertically-pointing Micro Rain Radar (MRR) over a period of 2 years (2011-2012) at Akure, a tropical location of Nigeria. The radar scanned at every 10 seconds and integrated over one minute samples to reduce event logging error associated with the instrument. The vertical profile of the LWC typically reveals a prominent seasonal variation. However, majority of the LWC profiles has low LWC, less than 0.1 gm?3 while the maximum observed LWC is about 3.18 gm?3. A strong like hood relation was observed between the melting layer height and the LWC, with the LWC reaches peak at the considerable height of about 4160 m which coincides precisely with the freezing height level (rain height of ~4520 m) of the study location. Good correlation was also observed between the LWC and R in most of the heights considered. The results obtained will assist system engineers to assess the level of absorption, reflection and attenuation of electromagnetic signals as a result of precipitable LWC along the transmitting paths. The novelty of the present work is in the area of linking LWC and Z as against usual relation between Z and R.

    • 摘要: 船撞桥事故不同于一般交通事故,一旦发生,往往会造成桥损船毁人亡、航道受阻、陆上交通中断和货物泄漏等严重后果,并且重建桥梁和疏通航道的费用十分惊人。本论文以赛岐大桥为依托工程,开展基于GIS平台的AIS&Radar(雷达)在大桥防撞预警上的应用技术研究。充分利用AIS、Radar(雷达)、视频监控、远程广播等特点,搭建一套多方位的桥区船舶实时监控平台,构建出一个实时、直观、联动、多角度、全局的桥区船舶航行动态图。

    • 摘要: The performance of the wavelength division multiplexing (WDM) photonic analogue-to-digital converter (ADC) used for digitization of high-resolution radar systems is evaluated numerically by using the peak signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) metric. Two different WDM photonic ADC architectures are considered for the digitization of radar signals with 5 GHz of bandwidth (spatial resolution of 3 cm), in order to provide a comprehensive study of the compromises present when deploying radar signals with high-resolution: 1) a four-channel architecture with each channel employing an ADC with 5 GSamples/s, and 2) an eight-channel architecture with each channel employing an ADC with 2.5 GSamples/s. For peak powers of the pulsed source between 10 and 20 dBm and a distance between the radar antenna and the sensing object of 2.4 meters, peak SNR levels between 29 and 39 dB are achieved with the eight-channel architecture, which shows higher peak SNR levels when compared with the four-channel architecture. For the eight-channel architecture and for the same peak powers of the pulsed source, peak SNR levels between 11 and 16 dB are obtained when the distance increases to 13.5 meters. With this evaluation using the peak SNR, it is possible to assess the performance limits when choosing a specific radar range, while keeping the same resolution.
