    • 摘要: Nasals and assimilation are basic terminologies in phonology,nasal assimilation is a kind of common phonological phenomenon in addition.As is known to all,in English,assimilation mainly happens between consonants and consonants,which is one of the important constitutes of English mutation,for the sake of labor-saving convenience and better fluency.From an applied linguistic view,nasal assimilation in negative prefixes(e.g.un-,ab-,ir-,im-&non-,etc.)is seemingly another interesting phenomenon for an innovative exploration.This paper focuses on some specific enumeration and comparison between Chinese dialect(specifically,Sichuan dialect)as well as English.This brief exploration and analysis might contribute to relative study in years to come.

    • 摘要: This paper compares the Chinese and Japanese abbreviations from the perspective of morphology and analyzes the causes of the popularity of abbreviations in modern society.The study shows that there are similar types of abbreviation formation(direct omission of the original word,extraction and combination,and number abbreviation)in the two languages,while in addition to the English alphabet abbreviations,there are“Pinyin”acronyms in Chinese and Roman alphabet abbreviations in Japanese.This study may be helpful in assisting the learners of two languages to further understand the culture of two countries,so as to better promote cultural exchanges.

    • 摘要: Native English Speaker Teacher(NEST)is the main practitioner of oral English classes in international partnership programs in mainland China;yet the efficiency of this practice remains unknown.This empirical research examined the classroom management skills of a NEST and a Non-Native English Speaker Teacher(NNEST)at a college international partnership program in Hunan Province.The findings of this study provided useful information for foreign teacher administration and oral teaching efficiency control in international partnership programs.

    • 摘要: For second language learners, understanding native speakers can be difficult because they talk fluently and unconsciously with natural language skills. In English, native speakers link words together according to certain rules, two or more words may sound like one. This research prepares some English and Chinese sentences for students with different language backgrounds to read, the recorded pronunciations are analyzed to find out the factors that affect word linking, such as mother language, speaking situation, dialect, familiarity with the language, and the frequency of using it, etc.

    • 摘要: Ubiquitous learning is a new type of learning method with rich learning concepts and educational significance. The study of ubiquitous learning began in 1991, and has experienced three stages of gestation, start-up and formation and development.After entering the 21 st century, new technologies and new ideas have emerged endlessly. The change in learning methods has led to the flip of classroom teaching, and ubiquitous learning has become more known as the pace of social development. The current higher vocational education presents the characteristics of disjointed education content, misaligned learning roles, and single teaching form. The integration of ubiquitous learning environment into vocational education teaching is a new direction for the development of vocational education.

    • 摘要: In the higher vocational college,most students encounter great difficulties in dealing with English suffixes.This paper analyses the differences between English and Chinese morphology,especially suffixes that denote tenses,numbers and comparisons and offer recommendations for English as a second language(ESL)classroom.

    • 摘要: The influence of the first language(L1)on the acquisition of a second language(L2)is inevitable.In addition,when L1 and L2 do not belong to the same language family,a negative influence,i.e.,an interference,will occur.The current study aims to investigate the level of accuracy and grammar complexity in texts written by Chinese upper secondary school students from the perspective of language transfer.It involves an analysis of a small corpus comprising 54 texts with the use of the terminable unit(T-unit)measure.The finding shows that the Chinese writers produced a text with only a few error-free T-units largely due to the syntactical transfer from Chinese to English.With regard to grammatical complexity,subordinate clauses are frequent in the corpus but relative clauses are rare.
