Three dimensional cracks in mixed mode conditions are studied in three dimensions (mode Ⅰ, mode Ⅱ and mode Ⅲ). The study is presented in both plane strain and plane stress conditions. The applied theory is MN-r_p-σ_θ by El-Sheikhy and Naka (2005). The analytical study is carried out for each of single mode and mixed modes where mixed modes are mode Ⅰ plus mode Ⅱ, mode Ⅰ plus mode Ⅲ, mode Ⅱ plus mode Ⅲ and mode Ⅰ plus mode Ⅱ plus mode Ⅲ. Also, the fracture directions and critical loads through the propagation path are determined. The study is performed under both plane stress and plane strain conditions for remotely loaded cracks under both tension and compression. The effect of friction between the crack surfaces and negative stress intensity factors are considered. The obtained results are plotted and discussed. Some solved examples are included.
