摘要

The principal objective in the project portfolio selection problem is to select a subset of proposed projects depending on the satisfaction of multiple constraints on the available resources. This paper presents a framework for the development of a decision-support-system that takes into account the different project categories. The model begins with calculating the priority level for the different candidate potable water projects depending on some evaluation criteria that were set in Elkashif et al. (2004). Then the projects are descendingly sorted according to the due date of each. Projects with close due dates are then descendingly sorted according to the prioritization level of each. The cash flow S-curve is determined for each project. Each project is represented as a series of payments and exported to the Primavera Project Planner Software as a member project of a project group. The Primavera determines the start dates for the different member projects.
