摘要

We developed a tool to analyse the state of Butt Rot in standing trees. The trees are excited by an electronically controlled hammer. The excitation signal travels through the tree and is measured by an accelerometer at the opposite side of the tree. A novel procedure analyses specific patterns in the acoustic spectrum with soft-computing methods. The technique can be applied not only to detect Butt Rot but for the analysis of tree conditions in general as well as for the examination of utility poles.
