This paper focuses on modelling a virtual learning scenario using the cybernetic paradigm. The key point is visualizing processes and the input and output factors in the virtual social learning scenario using a cybernetic model. First, a model was created focusing on learning community managers, the students and their activities and interactions. This representation was converted to a cybernetic model. Key elements of this cybernetic model are the transformation unit and the observer unit, which give entry points for a possible automation. The automation of the transformation unit would be the creation of a decision support system.
