Current curriculum development is more oriented to the needs of students. Universitas Negeri Malang (UM) responded by applying the Life Based Learning (LBL) approach. LBL is the key to the change and development of new learning ecology. One important aspect of LBL is authentic assessment. However, authentic assessment practices need to be evaluated so that assessments in LBL can be carried out appropriately. The purpose of the research is to describe the level of lecturers’ perceptions of the concepts, principles, and procedures for implementing authentic assessments. The research design uses a quantitative approach. Data obtained through the distribution of Likert scale questionnaires. Data were analyzed using quantitative descriptive techniques. The results showed that UM Lecturers agreed on the principles of assessment which must be oriented towards a continuous learning process and learning outcomes that reflect the ability of students during the learning process. Lecturers also agree with the concepts of educative, objective, accountable, transparent, integrated, and carried out in stages that are coherent and mutually agreed upon. The concepts, principles, and procedures of authentic assessments designed can be continued in the realm of implementation. Evaluation research can be done as a follow up to this research.
