This paper has introduced the Construction Industry Macro Maturity Model or CIM3 which willprovide a leading indication of construction industry performance as well as a context in which to compareand interpret construction industry performance between countries / regions. The CIM3 is based on anadaptation of the concept of process maturity and views the construction industry as being comprised ofkey practice areas (KPAs) which contain key practices. Inherent to the CIM3 is the logical relationshipthat key practices achieve specific objectives which lead to the realization of the construction industry?soverall performance goals. The robustness and reliability of the CIM3 is rooted in its method ofassessment which relies on the use of an expert group to carry out AHP pairwise comparisons as well asthe use of a questionnaire survey along with a random verification process.
