The sound radiation and scattering (including a bistatic case as well) by elastic shells in a fluid is investigated. A detailed analysis of theoretical results by using the Kirchhoff integral has been accomplished. A comparison between theoretical and experimental data is given. Sound diffraction by finite elastic cylindrical shell in nearfield is investigated too. The expression for sound field is written by using Fresnel's integrals. It is shown that the calculation by using formulae with Fresnel's integrals provides a reasonably fair picture for scattering field.
