Qeoscience is intermingled with our lives. Most of our daily uses, fossil fuels for energy, construction materials for buildings, housing apartments, dams, bridges, roads and highways and minerals for industrial uses, all depend on the contribution of geosciences. The modern civilized world is entirely dependent on mineral resources and their proper utilization, Tremendous landscape changes, huge destruction of property, loss of lives, environmental pollution and consequently the fall of civilization owing to natural disasters are also related to the realm of geoscience. So, geoscience is a vital and growing scientific Held that includes vast subject matters. For predicting and mitigating the damage of natural disasters and exploring and exploiting mineral resources, proper geoscientific knowledge is always a necessity. Geoscience is the only science that plays a vital role in all spheres of life from common to corporate level. Planners and decision makers can utilize geoscientific data from comprehensive reports and maps produced by geoscientists to make right decisions in land-use planning and management, In this regards, there should be good cooperation and coordination between planners, decision makers and geoscientists. It is even the vital duty of geoscientists to persuade the planners and decision makers that there is a need to incorporate geological factors is land-use planning, by providing them documents on case studies. Common people, by acquiring even elementary geoscientific knowledge, can take precaution and protect themselves and their property from damage of hazards, protect natural environment and the valuable commodity water resources from pollution, and thus protect themselves from various diseases. Cultivators may be able to protect soil from erosion, siltation and salination and to increase soil fertility to produce more food to meet the demand of the exploding population, if they could apply geoscience knowledge to their respective enterprises and in their daily lives. As we are dependent on geoscience, it is a need for every citizen to know about it. And it is the prime responsibility of a geoscicntist, nay a nation, to stimulate the awareness of geoscience among the overall population of a country. To do so, there must be some propaganda to stress the importance of geoscience through broadcasting media and also there must be given to mass education including an emphasis on geoscience as a compulsory subject or at least a special chapter to the curricula.
