Logical empiricism includes the separability thesis that there is a sharp dichotomy between subject and object, a correspondence between concepts and physical objects, and that once we free our minds from metaphysical elements and become aware of all relevant antecedent conditions our knowledge of reality is absolute and our predictions accurate. Both have been replaced by a post-modern retreat from science derived from the "linguistic turn", the dominance of social constructivism, a growing materialism, and anti-science movements. Instead, we recommend that separability, correspondence, and constructivism substitute for a model proposed by Bohr of a non-separability complementarity between rational static concepts formed by observations of action and action that paradoxically combines mutually exclusive (relativism) and interdependent (correspondent) information. The tension between these two categories produces scientific correspondence; more pragmatically for our purposes, a tension between two relative constructs produces a virtual knowledge with low epistemic value that applied to a complex social system have solved military nuclear waste management problems.
