The durability of fluoropolymer containing hydrocarbon vinyl monomer unit was assumed to be influenced by its polymer sequence. Monomer reactivity ratio (r_1, r_2 and r_1r_2) and Run Number R~* of CTFE/vinyl ether or vinyl ester were calculated with Fineman-Ross' method, and they indicated that the completeness of alternative copolymerization of CTFE/vinyl ether (CHVE) was greater than CTFE/vinyl ester. Sequence analysis in use of ~(13)C-NMR also showed that CTFE/CHVE copolymer consisted of almost complete alternative CVC sequence even if one monomer was rather excess to the other in monomer feed, while CTFE/VA copolymer consisted of not a few block sequence (CW, VW, CCC, CCV) except alternative sequence (CVC). The accelerated weathering test showed that the durability of PFEVE containing CHVE was greater than that of the other PFVES and the durability rank coincided with the rank of alternative copolymerization. Nevertheless the result of the accelerated weathering test, it is difficult to affirm that the superiority of alternative copolymerization influences the weatherability because many factors have effects on the weatherability except the polymer structure. Even if a same type polymer is used for the paint, the weatherability varies by the pigment dispersion, adhesiveness to the substrate or crosslinking level. However, we are confident that the weatherability of PFEVE is superior to that of PFEVES based on many experiences during over 15 years.
