摘要

In this paper, the mutagenicity of aqueous solution of chlorine dioxide and its by-products - chlorite and chlorate was studied by using Ames test and mouse marrow polychromatic erythrocyte micronucleus test The results show that: Ames test results of ClO{sub}2, ClO{sub}2 - and ClO{sub}3 - aqueous solutions are all negative, these 3 aqueous solutions all are not mutagens of gene mutation type; Micronucleus test results of these 3 aqueous solutions are negative, these 3 aqueous solutions have no influence on generation of mouse marrow polychromatic erythrocyte micronucleus, therefore they are not mutagens of chromosome aberration type. This will provide scientific base of ClO{sub}2 to be used for safety of drinking water.
