摘要

Antibiotics in lactation feed are intended to maintain the health of the sow, and decrease transmission of bacterial pathogens to piglets preweaning. The inclusion of tilmicosin in the lactation diet at 181 - 363g/ton is approved for the control of Actinobacilluspleuropneumoniae and Pasteurella, multocida, if fed for 21 days beginning at the time of disease outbreak. In this study, the objective was to determine if the inclusion of tilmicosin in the lactation diet (Treatment) improved piglet performance, and decreased the wean-to-estrus interval in comparison to a combination of ceftiofur injections to piglets and chlorotetracycline (CTC) lactation feed (Control). In addition, this study investigated the impact of tilmicosin in sow lactation on piglet nursery performance.
