摘要

The classification system of the Committee on Hearing and Equilibrium of the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery (AAO-HNS) is currently used to evaluate postoperative hearing results. This system is suitable for evaluating patients who have useful pre-operative hearing of class A or B. However, the system is not suitable for evaluating patients who have poor hearing of class C or D. To evaluate both patients with good and those with poor preoperative hearing, we propose the following new evaluation system. Unchanged: postoperative hearing change is less than 15dB-15%. Improved: postoperative hearing is improved more than 20dB-20%. Worse: postoperative hearing is decreased more than 20dB-20%.
